oftn studio is a Seoul-based spatial design studio working across retail, brand experience, hospitality, and lifestyle environments.

our work explores how space, objects, and everyday experiences can be reinterpreted to create meaningful and lasting spatial narratives.
we coined the term “of thingness” to describe the inherent objectivity found in things. our work focuses on reinterpreting this sense of thingness, recognizing that small, everyday elements often hold the power to create meaningful change. Through a different perspective on the ordinary, new possibilities for transformation emerge.

EOF Document Store is the brand’s second location following its flagship, where OFTN Studio focused more deeply on articulating the brand’s philosophy and identity. The project began with a central question: how can the brand’s long-accumulated attitude toward “recording” and the “editing of form” be translated into spatial language? The space was therefore conceived not as a finished outcome, but as another chapter in the ongoing narrative of the brand.

Furniture and fixtures were developed with inspiration drawn from archival storage systems—structures such as document repositories and filing cabinets. Elements distributed throughout the space metaphorically reveal the processes of collecting, organizing, and editing records. Each component operates as an independent object while being carefully orchestrated so that the overall space reads as a sequence of edited scenes.

Another key design principle was to respect the inherent temporality of the site. The existing concrete finishes and material surfaces were preserved as much as possible, allowing the traces of time embedded in the building to remain visible. Minimal partitions, a brick-tile wall enclosing the shampoo area, and soft PVC partitions introduce different spatial characters while remaining subtly integrated within a continuous flow.

Ultimately, EOF Document Store translates the brand’s accumulated time and attitude into a spatial experience. As visitors move through the space, they encounter an environment shaped by rhythms of organization and accumulation—allowing the density of the brand’s recorded history to be sensed naturally. The project thus functions as a new archive where future records will continue to be added.
